My daughter has a great quality: if someone tells her that she can’t do something she loves to prove them wrong. She then becomes unstoppable.

I have a client with a similar trait: Every time I say something like, “Ok…..this is your second set, you might not be able to do as many as reps as you did in the first set”, she proves me wrong. I can see the fire in her eyes. She, too, becomes unstoppable.

I LOVE this trait. I never thought I possessed it……..until now.

As many of you know, my husband and I bought a house that turned out to be a giant “lemon”. Instead of doing some minor cosmetic work on the house we had to rebuild it.  It took months, cost a fortune, and was stressful.

I will never forget our very first meeting with our builder and our roofer, Artie. Artie looked at the utter shock and despair on our faces. He looked first at my husband’s face and then at mine. And he said, “Oh boy……….this is really going to take you guys down.”

The minute I heard those words, I was determined, NO MATTER WHAT, that this house wasn’t taking us down. NO WAY. And while we went through many ups and downs, my husband and I stayed a united force.

Think about this the next time you’re faced with a challenge. It turns out, that it’s really fun proving someone wrong!! So this is for you, Artie!  IMG_1506
